I’ll admit that the Broken Matt Hardy thing wasn’t for me. Beyond the initial “I can’t believe this is actually happening” I just didn’t really get it. Others seemed to love it and it has made appearances in both WWE and AEW to, let’s just say, diminishing returns.
That’s not to say there weren’t some fun moments like the Hardys celebrating Halloween. We get visits from The Hurricane, Crazzy Steve (sort of), and, uhhh, Itchweed?
Yeah, I don’t know either, dude.
Another season of the National Hockey League has begun! When you think of hockey and professional wrestling, who comes to mind? Longtime readers will certainly think of The Goon. Some fans may think of Chris Jericho whose father Ted Irvine played for the Rangers, Bruins, Blues, and Kings. CM Punk is a huge Chicago Blackhawks fan. It may not be the most popular major sport, but it certainly has its connections to wrestling.
Would you think Hulk Hogan? Probably not, but the Florida resident and beach shop owner gets the nod from the Tampa Bay Lightning during their playoff game against the Montreal Canadiens. He does a little promo about “kicking a little Canadian ice” to pump up the crowd before the clip sadly cuts off.
What a shame! I would’ve loved to hear Hulk Hogan talk about the finer points of hockey, like the neutral zone trap, the importance of keeping a box during the penalty kill, and working the cycle in the offensive zone.
It’s October, so we’re about to get real scary.
If you’ve ever worked in a crummy office or had a relative that likes to fill your inbox with garbage, you’ve probably seen something like this. They upload a picture of your face to a premade holiday video that is as awkward as it is embarrassing. Christmas time elf videos are a big one and it’s never, ever funny.
Well, someone took it upon themselves to do a “TNA Monster Rap”. They have thrown your favorite TNA officials’ faces onto the bodies of monsters as they aggressively rap about Halloween at you. Is it better or worse than the Last Rites match?
DJ Dixie Carter? Hulk Frankenstein? Mummy Vince Russo?!

Stone Cold Steve Austin is a man of many talents. Wrestler. Actor. Podcaster. Game show host. He has done many things, but not everything.
On the show “Stone Cold Takes on America”, the wrestling legend and star of Maximum Conviction travels around the country doing all sorts of jobs and tasks. He leaves his comfort zone ie: the wrestling ring and his ranch, and tries new and exciting things.
In this episode, Stone Cold Steve Austin tries his hand at doing the weather forecast. Wrestling in the main event of Wrestlemania in front of tens of thousands of screaming fans? No problem. Talking about the temperature in Reno in front of a green screen? There’s 99% chance of pain.
Depending on when you started watching wrestling, you may have a different image of Taz when you think of him. Newer fans may know him as the wacky commentator and sometimes, kind-of manager on AEW. Maybe you know him from the same role in TNA or his time in WWE, both as a wrestler and color commentator.
Older fans will of course remember his dominant run as The Human Suplex Machine in the original ECW. He even worked in WCW for a match. Longtime readers may even remember The Tasmaniacs.
But I digress.
This right here is his debut in the USWA as the Tazmaniac with Richard Lee. In what could easily double as a Squash Of The Week, a, uh, unique-looking Tazmaniac makes short work of Tony Williams. Just listen to that crowd laugh cheer when he makes his entrance! Gasp as he nibbles Tony’s fingers!
Fun fact: USWA doesn’t get a mention on his Wikipedia page. I wonder why.
Look at that. RD’s favorite Charo escaped Fantasy Island and decided to visit AWA of all places. The start tells us about her love of wrestling, good-looking guys, and her plans for 1988.
The best part, though? She is made an honorary member of the AWA, meaning she could wrestle anybody in the company.
Who knows? Maybe AWA would still be around today if she competed in The Team Challenge Series and the Great Turkey Hunt.
Wrestling legend Terry Funk left us this week. People inside and outside of the business have been recounting all of the Funker’s best matches and promos from his long, storied career.
Even outside of the ring, Funk made an impact. He was an actor, a singer, and even a Wendy’s hamburger hater. Funk was tougher than a two-dollar steak and that mean, no-good, son-of-a-gun preferred that over the fresh, juicy goodness of a Wendy’s burger. Maybe some fries and a Frosty would’ve have changed his tune. Probably not.
He only appears for a few seconds, but Bobby Heenan appeared on David Letterman’s live anniversary show. Listen to that pop! Look at that suit! He didn’t even have to say anything and he got a major reaction. Brain was the best.
