Hey, remember when The Berzerker came into WCW and went on a reign of terror? No? Well, that’s probably because he seemingly just randomly materialized one week on WCW Saturday Night to take on Evan Karagias in a bout that for whatever reason we are going to cover today.
Yep, there he is, just like you remember! Surely you recall those sunglasses and the t-shirt totally ripping of Taz’s catchphrase, right? Like I know he couldn’t come out waving a sword and wearing viking horns, but maybe, just maybe, you could try to be just a tad harder to be, I dunno, something more than a Create a Wrestler from WCW-nWo World Tour?
And no, wearing your fuzzy boots with that ensemble doesn’t count!
So the match gets underway and the future member of Three Count tries a sneak attack. That goes about as well as you’d expect with Nord hitting him with a big boot.
A few decent looking elbows follow in what may be the highlight of this here match. I say that because at least here we are getting some form of “action” which is stark contrast to what happens when Nord tosses his foe out of the ring…
…and then casually nudges shoulders with him to knock him down. I’ve seen Orange Cassidy do that spot in recent years and honestly I think HE put more effort forth.
Back in, he does give us a decent gut wrench power bomb pausing to yell at the camera. I’d transcribe what he said, but honestly if he ain’t putting forth any effort I not either.
And I have no idea what he is doing here, rolling him around his own torso. NO EARTHLY IDEA. I’ve never seen that before and I hope I never do again.
And this…like at first I wasn’t even sure what that was either. I had to watch multiple times to figure out it was a very lackadaisical kick. At least I think that’s what it is.
It all leads to this thrilling finish where he uses a honest to goodness camel clutch to score the victory. You think I’m going through the trouble of doing an animated GIF for that? I can be lazy too you know!
