I always pride myself on reviewing great one-sided bash fests in this here column, so fair warning that won’t be the case this week. In fact, it may well be the worst SQUASH you ever done seen, largely thanks to THIS MAN…
…ROCKY GIBBS! You may not find him on Cagematch.com, but believe me, he’s about to become a cult hero thanks to this amazing match with the Junkyard Dog.
And it started out so well, with JYD offering his much larger foe a handshake. But big Rocky wants no part of it, blowing off the Dog like he’s unworthy of such a gesture. That or he didn’t understand what a “handshake” was. You scoff, but after watching the rest of this match, I’m not sure I’d rule that out.
The pair “lock up”, with Gibbs pushing JYD int the corner. What comes next are what are quite possibly the worst punches I’ve ever seen in my entire life. He tosses the Dog into the opposite corner, then follows him in for a “splash”, which JYD deftly avoids. Rocky then appears to suffer a heart attack. Like if I didn’t know better, I would have thought the guy died right then and there.
And I’m thinking JYD was thinking the same thing, as he gently nudges him with his foot to see if he’s still conscious. He then picks him up and gives a punch right upside the head. Dog then decides to end this quick, which he does with his patented…
…arm wringer! And yes, a headbutt, which fells Mr. Gibbs. Dog then immediately goes for the cover to get out of here as fast as humanly possible. But Rocky screws that up too, attempting to roll out of the pin attempt. Dog gets up and looks at him in utter bewilderment. Can’t say I blame him, as this was the crappiest SQUASH of the Week yet!
