I’ve seen many SQUASHES with my good friend John Tenta over the years, but this one just might be my favorite.

I mean seriously – look at how happy he is coming down the aisle, slapping hands with the fans and most of all, GRINNING FROM EAR TO EAR! The vast, vast majority of John’s career he was a heel, which is about as far removed from how he was in real life as possible. So it’s great to find a match where he is a full-fledged babyface. Look at him reaching as far as he can left and right to shake every hand! I absolutely LOVE it!

His opponent would be one A. C. Corner. If he looks familiar to you, well, he should, as he would in a few years transition into his much better known persona as D’Lo Brown.

And what a nogoodnik he is! He starts the match by tempting Quake into a test of strength, only to poke him right in the eye. A flying clothesline barely moves John, so he tries for another, only to see Quake to decide playtime is over and absolutely clobbers him with one of his own.

From here on out, it’s nothing but Quake, who drops a giant leg and then follows that up with an even mightier elbow.

He picks up D’Lo like he’s nothing….which is saying something because as you see here, Brown (or A.C. I guess) is at least in the ballpark of size of Quake himself. John gives him a beautiful powerslam then plays to the crowd, all the while looking like he’s having the time of his life.

Of course it wouldn’t be an Earthquake squash without an Earthquake splash, so jump jump jump and here it comes! That finishes things off, but not before he celebrates his victory with a giant smile. I will forever miss you my dear friend…and from now on when I think of you, this match will be at the forefront of my memories!
