Barbra Streisand really should do an album of Tiny Tim covers.
Good interview, I listened to the 2010 one earlier and this one touched a lot of the same stuff, but good nonetheless.
I do find it somewhat amusing that Vince Russo is looking for logic out of Batman 66, considering the typical Russo answer to “smark fans” about wrestling logic concerning some of his booking decisions is “it’s fake, it doesn’t matter”..
A question I have Russo is how can he possibly justify his opinion that Batman 66 is better than Batman 89 or the Dark Knight films? Michael Keaton > Adam West. Secondly what’s Russo’s opinions on the Joel Schumacher Batman films? For some reason I bet those are his favorite Batman films outside of the Batman 66 stuff.
Comparing the Adam West Batman to pretty much any other Batman (other than the Schumacher version) is like comparing apples and oranges. I like them all (other than the Schumacher version).
What? You have a problem with Bat Nipples?
Yeah I agree Batman 66 is basically a spoof or a comedy, so it isn’t fair to compare it to other iterations. Russo loving Kiss and Batman 66, does speak volumes towards his booking style though.
Also the line in the interview that I found most interesting was Russo basically saying he doesn’t like people who take themselves too seriously. Which speaks volumes towards his booking style as well. And it’s especially ironic, considering how overly sensitive he is about criticism. I mean for how long has he cried about people who dare criticize him?
For a guy who doesn’t like people who take themselves too seriously, you would think he wouldn’t delete a comment containing light hearted criticism, on a brand new website about opinions, on an article with 17 views, that’s basis was for people to make comments about Batman 66 to give him “insight” on the topic.
Hey, Batman Forever wasn’t so bad! Although, Batman & Robin, on the other hand….
I liked Batman Forever.. Not as great as Batman ’89, but not too terrible either. Jim Carrey chewing scenery helps.
Yeah Batman Forever was ok. In fact it’s probably better than Batman Returns.
Better than Batman Returns?! Have you seen both movies lately?
In fairness you are right, I haven’t. But in my remembrance of both, Returns was Tim Burton being a little too much Tim Burton. Whereas with Batman Forever while Joel Schumacher isn’t on the same level as a filmmaker with Burton, it was more focused, than Batman Returns was.
Batman Returns didn’t have enough focus on Batman imo. I think with Forever because it’s Joel Schumacher and he directed Batman and Robin, people are very negative on Forever.
But if I watched both movies right now back to back, I might have a different opinion.
Lol, I left a comment on his website, basically saying the same thing that I posted on here. Within an hour he deleted my comment. I can see how he gets the rap for being this overly sensitive person who can’t accept criticism.
More power to Russo and his website, but if you can’t accept light hearted criticisms. or just comments that aren’t completely agreeing with you and glowing with praise towards you, then why would you make a website espousing your views about various topics in the first place, and have a comment section?
I’m about to listen to it while playing the Russo Drinking Game! Rules, take a shot whenever he says “I’ll never forget”, or I swear to God”. On second thought, maybe I shouldn’t do the drinking part, because I’ll be listening in my car……and I’ve got things to do so I can’t be drunk in 5 minutes.
A wise decision.
Ann-Margret always was smoking hot, hell she still looks pretty good now.
Yvonne Craig bikini party? Right on!!
Vince Russo was great as always. You need to get him on again sometime and talk pizza, Batman….hell anything.
So this video store near me is closing down next moth, Thomas Video. It was supposedly the first video store ever opened in the U.S. Quentin Tarantino himself stopped by to pick up some old 60s/70s VHS tapes. Vince Russo should stop by too!
