Original ECW WrestleCrap, Rosa-Megan-Penelope Dynamite Disaster, Jamie Noble and Nidia, and Blade Braxton Memories

Jamie Noble Nidia

A word of warning: I am sick as a dog doing this one. So if it’s shorter or even more nonsensical than usual, please blame that. Disclaimer out of the way, let’s hit it!

Arya W kicks us off with…”If there was original ECW Wrestlecrap, what would it be?”

I’ve said for years it would be the Muskateer…and lo and behold, good ol’ Art took care of that one for us rightchere! The reason I said that was because it was more silly than something that was just, well, wrong. That’s why I have never covered say the Mass Transit incident; it wouldn’t be fun for me to write and I doubt it would be fun for you to read. The site was designed to make people laugh. Nearly a quarter century later, I try to stick to that.

George P asks the obvious question of…”What happened with that Rosa/Bayne/Ford/chair spot Wednesday??”

Your guess is as good as mine! That was a total disaster and sources have told this reporter no one had a clue what happened there. Bryan noted that Tony refuses to have production meetings and while I can appreciate wanting to keep things more loosey goosey it can lead to stuff going awry like that. And stuff going awry leads to memes and Botchamania and all that. I guess you have to decide which is better for your company. As I am writing this I am actually watching the Peacock documentary about Saturday Night Live and how much time they spend prepping that show each and every week. It’s insane. There’s a middle ground and I’d love for Tony to find it.

Jarvis G ponders…”Ever consider doing a mailbag via snail mail? Maybe for one week, folks can mail letters (handwritten; not printed and typed). It’ll be like mid-1990s Pro Wrestling Illustrated.”

Only if Rita M. Buda writes in.

Adam V reminds us all of…”It’s February so I’m watching No Way Outs and I was watching the 2004 iteration and I was wondering if the Jamie Noble/Nidia angle had been inducted yet. After all it saw the return of the blindfold match gimmick. Do you think it warrants induction? BTW I’ve been a follower since 2007, but after that long it’s easy to forgot all the inductions you’ve done.”

It’s not just hard for you – I don’t remember half the stuff we’ve covered. I literally have to search the archives myself to check on things like this. But man oh man, I LOVED the combo of Jamie Noble and Nidia. They absolutely played their roles of redneck couple perfectly, and believe me, I would know as I grew up in the hills of southernmost Indiana and saw that exact same couple countless times. I know we did the Indecent Proposal match, but yeah, I’ll consider diving back into that one.

Taylor W wants to know…”Yeah yeah yeah, the WWE HOF is a marketing gimmick trash bag of an idea. Nevertheless…who are 5 wrestlers you think should be in the hall of fame but aren’t?”

No idea why you’d even suggest it’s just a marketing gimmick. I mean, this week we learned we’re getting Michelle McCool, but not Layla, who was BY FAR the better character of that tandem. I’m sure there’s a really good reason why McCool is in and Layla isn’t. I’m sure there is. Me oh my what could it be?

Dylan F goes Odd Couple on us with…”Do you have a favorite odd couple tag team, Ive always liked Bobby Eaton and Lord Steven regal”

Loved Sir Robert of Eaton! In hindsight Team Hell No was actually a lot of fun, although at the time I was probably ticked that they were wasting Danielson in that manner.

Andy G ponders…”You’ve mentioned being a Cincy guy growing up, so let’s ask: how many “ways” do you take your chili?”

Three – spaghetti, chili, cheese. Mrs. Deal is four – spaghetti, chili, onions, cheese. We’re also big fans of the new habanero cheese. We’re team Skyline, not team Gold Star or team Empress.

Crystal DQ wraps us up with…”What was your favorite show with Blade Braxton?”

That…that…is impossible to pick. I really loved nearly every time we got on together simple because we both came in with the same goal of making the other guy crack. The Roast was kinda crazy but it was a blast because we got to actually be together. Never forget – we were friends. I’d like to think that overrode everything. It’s interesting to me there’s been a lot of interest in old WrestleCrap Radios recently, so I know I really need to do something there. Not sure what exactly yet, but stay tuned.

And with that, I am going to go collapse again. Fingers crossed I’m on the mend and be back for a bigger mailbag next week! Send in those questions rightchere!
