It Came From YouTube: WCW Bashin’ Brawlers commercial

I found this commercial on the WCW Worldwide blog for WCW Bashin’ Brawlers dolls and had to share.

This commercial aired endlessly on WCW Monday Nitro in the late 90’s.

All together now…

“HEY! Getoffmy…. NOSE!”

I loved WWF’s Wrestling Buddies as a kid, so I’m sure kids loved these things just as much.

Hey kids it’s got all the quad pulling action that you’d expect from Big Sexy. And get ready for Goldberg as he kicks the other ones so hard that they no longer function right. Coming soon the Eric Bischoff figure that takes your wallet and keeps on spending.

I totally forgot about these. Now it’s bringing me back to the late 1990s when I used to watch Nitro, Thunder and Saturday Night all the time.

I remember this commercial when I was a kid. Was always kind of freaked out by how the brawler’s look. Unique concept, but terrible execution

  4. Brad says:

They should’ve made them more realistic……the Nash one in particular, should’ve said things like this:

    “I made 6 figures in 96”
“Nobody is gonna buy a midget like Malenko beating me in a shoot”
“I made 500 grand in that match”

My younger brother had the nWo Hollywood Hogan and DDP one – kinda neat but we could never really get the thing’s sound effects to trigger properly. IIRC, this was also the Christmas of The Furby so there was a lot of talking toys in our household that dya.

My girlfriend bought me the Sting one when we were in college. There’s an adorable picture of a female friend of ours delicately holding his foot, “Wrestling” him.

The only thing creepier than those action figures that seemed more like vibrators.

Still got both my Nash and Goldberg brawlers. Can confirm, they were awesome as a kid.
