Crapper Adam Knight submitted these clips of The Ultimate Warrior and The Macho Man Randy Savage on Arsenio Hall and wrote:
Recently seeing The Miz bomb on Conan, I was wondering who the best and worst guests could be for a talk show. I found the following clips which seemingly answer that question (I’ll leave it to you to decide which is which)
I think they’re both great; albeit for different reasons entirely.
Thanks for the submission, Adam!
Space is the place – got a feeling Macho Man was a Sun Ra fan
I kept expecting Warrior to jump on the couch and say, “THE WARRIOR’S IN LOVE WITH KATIE HOLMES!”
Arsenio: “You should have a rap album.”
Foreshadowing?
TBC: “I think they’re both great; albeit for different reasons entirely.

I couldn’t agree more…great find…two classic examples of getting what you want done, selling the events, themselves and the business.
Some of the UW’s promos cause me physical pain to watch (actually most of them do), but his over the top worked here.
I still think when Savage brought his “A” game (at least I think he did here) nobody could even come close.
I guess I thought, from the perspective of a non fan, Wrestling itself came out of Savage’s appearance quite well, wheras Warrior’s didn’t do it any favours. But both clips are great nonetheless.Warrior’s always good for a bit of ICFYT.
The Warrior was always amazing trying to speak. I miss his crazy.
Warrior was awful on Arsenio, but somehow even more awkward on Regis and Kathy Lee.
Arsenio was not a good host or interviewer. He either fawned over his guests, or failed to mask his lack of interest.
Both of these were great, in their own special ways.
I saw Honky Tonk Man on Arsenio back in the day. That was really awkward.
Yeah, Arsenio was a sub-Leno caliber talk show host. It’s no mystery why his show didn’t last.
Both interviews were entertaining, but I have a soft spot for Warriors. Something about wrestlers staying in character and not breaking keyfabe with mainstream pop culture is great. Especially when the gimmick is that off the wall.
Does anyone have a link for the episode of Conan he’s referencing?
