Ontario, CA – WWE has a new star on their roster after fans have gone wild for Ricky.
The mononymous Superstar rose to fame a few weeks ago when the previously unknown wrestler volunteered to be Kevin Owens’s tag team partner. Despite never being on WWE television, fans immediately took to Ricky, chanting his name in excitement. While that team-up didn’t exactly work in his favor that night, the incredible swell of support has earned Ricky diehard fans.
“We want Ricky” chants have filled arenas over the past few days. The ruckus has been so loud that it has actually disrupted several live events. WWE has acknowledged the fervent fandom and is ready to capitalize.
“Not since Ricky Steamboat has a Ricky been this over,” said WWE COO Triple H. “The fans demand more Ricky and that’s what they’re going to get. Y’know, Survivor Series isn’t too far off and I hear that Randy Orton and KO are going to need a tag team partner. I’m just saying.”
The company has already begun to lean into Rickymania with an avalanche of Ricky-centric merchandise. T-shirts, action figures, “Sticky Ricky” hand toys, and Lime Ricky energy drinks have already hit the online shop.
When asked to comment on his new-found fame, Ricky said, “Hi, I’m Ricky.”
