Toronto, ON – WWE Superstar Kevin Owens had a record-breaking performance this weekend during his match at Elimination Chamber. During his match with on-again, off-again best friend Sami Zayn, Owens successfully changed from heel to babyface to heel more than any other WWE wrestler.
“Switches are nothing new in wrestling,” explained WWE chief Triple H. “Some may remember a time or two when I made the ol’ switcheroo. Even the double turn has happened a few times. But what Kevin Owens was able to achieve tonight in front of a home-country crowd was something special.”
The former Universal Champion has made it a habit over the passed few years to vacillate between good and evil during his wrestling career. While fans have come to expect changes and double-crosses, none thought they would see so many in one match.
Throughout the contest, Owens displayed vicious aggression, only to come back with tender kindness for Zayn. Closed fists were traded with gentle caresses. Even a throwing Zayn through a table was followed up by carrying his opponent to medical professionals.
WWE officials tallied the number of turns for Kevin Owens at 10 prior to the end of the match and 3 after the bell heading towards the locker room. Historians later confirmed that his performance easily beat any multiple turns that Big Show ever did.
After the match, Kevin Owens vowed to turn at least 15 times at this years Wrestlemania.
