Straight out of 1991, It’s the Official Electronic Microphone (with powerful sound amplifier!).
Yes, now you too can be Mean Gene Oklerlund!
Get a couple friends together with this microphone, and some Wrestling Buddies or Hasbro figures, and you’d have a blast calling the action and providing the sound effects.
The “6 Action Sounds” promised on the package really did sound pretty good.
Kudos to whoever decided to produce this thing because it really was fun!
I like it. The packaging looks great too, with a helpful pointer that the big man in yellow is “Hulk Hogan”…
I had this, was indeed fun. Too bad they did not have the technology back then to make your voice come out sounding like Gene’s. You could recreate his SummerSlam blooper anytime someone dropped something around the house.
Considering how skeevy Mean Gene was on Legends’ House, I’d wouldn’t have been surprised if one of the action sounds was “Hey good lookin’, I’ll be back to pick you up later!”
Mr. Microphone is still an awesome toy. 🙂
I got one of the WWE Electronic Microphone that got released a few years later. I remember me and my friends when we would play wrestle and pretend to be our favorite wrestlers loved using it for ring announcing and promos. Specifically, it was this version:

Have to say, of all the guys to include sound bites of their promos as a selling point, why RVD?
Guess he needed the money……to buy some more weed!
I had this thing. What kid didn’t want to be Mean Gene?!?
And a young Kenny Anderson received it as a gift and the rest was history…
I always was the kid who wanted to be the ref/announcer/etc. instead of the wrestler, so I actually would have loved this as a kid lol.
I had this as a kid and got it for a Christmas present in 1991. I used to take the foam off the microphone and put it on the head of my LJN figure of Junkyard Dog and enjoy the hilarity that ensued.
Forget Mean Gene, I wanted to sound like The Fink! 😉
I took the foam off mainly to sound louder. I was an interesting child..
I remember having a WCW mic that was similar to this except that A) It played voice clips from WCW wrestlers instead of grunts and body slams, and B) you could actually tune in to a specific radio frequency and hear yourself on the speakers.
My parents got me this for Christmas one year. Fucking loved it!
