Crapper Brian Jacobs writes:

Today on a few video game sites I follow, news leaked about a game that was planned and announced in 2012 called WWE Brawl that never came to light. The concept designs, created by artist Rich Lyons, were created for the start of the 2011 WWE fighter WWE Brawl and he posted them briefly online.

Two Youtube videos show the trailer and early gameplay of the video game at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tXrSuG_dME and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6jq-YP9m2A

The concept art can still be found at http://www.screwattack.com/video/Concept-art-for-WWE-fighting-game-that-never-happened-dreams-up-Mr-McMahon-as-the-next-Lex-Luthor-12842755 and http://www.fightersgeneration.com/screens/wwe-brawl-concept-art.htm

It’s quite a sight to see Vince McMahon in a mecha like suit like Lex Luthor taking on SWAT team member John Cena, Mad Max Steve Austin, Bear Gladiator Big Show, Aztec Warrior Rey, Ninja Kelly Kelly, Warrior Hulk Hogan, Miz as some odd IRS/brawler mashup, Ted Dibiase, and Necromancer Undertaker. Enjoy!

Wow! Those are some very.. um… unique character designs and costumes, I’ll say that much!

They look like something straight out of a comic book!

Would you Crappers have been interested in this game if it was released, or would you have taken a pass on it?

This actually could have been some fun its wwe meets super smash bros, meets full 3d environment. As long as the controls wherent crap it could have been good.

  2. Autrach Sejanoz says:

If the words “Vince McMahon in a mecha suit” don’t give you a sudden urge to reach for your wallet/purse, there’s no hope for you.

  3. Anonymous says:

This looks lousy. Though who knows. Maybe it would have been a surprise and actually been a decent game.

  4. DeweyDTruman says:

I don’t think I could have thrown my money at the screen hard or fast enough if this came out, even if it wasn’t good. That concept is just too good.

  5. Paul R. from Spook Central: The Ghostbusters Companion says:

That design of Kelly Kelly looks almost exactly like Natalya. Were it not for the “KK” on her belt buckle, I would have sworn it *was* Natalya.

I briefly remember hearing about this game a few years ago. Totally forgot about it until now. Looks like it could have been fun. It looks like they used this style (but not designs) of the characters for Slam City. Maybe they can recycle this game idea into a Slam City game.

    • Jinx says:

You know, that’s what I thought too when I saw that artwork of Kelly Kelly. “Hey wow, that’s a pretty righteous Nattie right there…hey…what’s with the KK? Aww man…that’s Kelly Kelly…” It’s funny though how that little bit of artwork made her look more like a credible fighter than her entire in ring career…

  6. Mister Forth says:

Not a bad concept, but we won’t know for now how it could’ve been.

  7. Carl Zayas says:

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

  8. Adam says:

This looks like this could have been a bit of fun. Did it die with THQ along with the Wrestlefest reboot? (Of which I’m still insanely bitter about)

    • "The Big Cheese" Paul Kraft says:

I think it was canceled before THQ went under but someone correct me if I’m wrong.
