WCW Frank Andersson trading card

I came across this Frank Andersson card from this 1995 WCW Main Event card set on the Wrestling Trading Card site. 

I have just two questions for you, Crappers.

Who in the heck is Frank Andersson and who thought he was deserving of a trading card?

I found a clip of him wrestling for WCW but he must not have very long…

    WCW had ambitious plans to get big in Scandinavia back then.

    Frank Andersson is a Olympic gold medalist and legendary wrestler in Sweden. They also hired Asbjørn Riis from Denmark around the same time.

    I watched WCW a lot back then and have no memories of him at all. Can’t think of any on air mentions, nothing in any PWI that I ever read either. Hats off to The Not So Raging Bull Manny Fernandez for just being there.

    Frank Andersson is mentioned briefly in Gary Michael Cappetta’s Bodyslams!, as one of Eric Bischoff’s first hires as WCW executive vice president:

    Frank did some pro wrestling in Japan before he went to WCW. http://www.cagematch.net/?id=2&nr=4658&page=4

    Beat Kole & Kane (soon to be Booker T och Stevie Ray) on house shows in Germany.

    Back in august last year he did a tag team match with Hacksaw Jim Duggan against Steinbolt and Anderson

    I have that card. Always said Kurt Angle was not the ONLY Olympic Gold Medalist in wrestling.

    He was only a bronze medalist in the olympics. Plus he is a jerk and well known con artist in Sweden.
