It Came From YouTube: WCW Ruins Everything!

Crapper Lorenzo Tanos writes:

In The Simpsons’ eighth season, the show’s writers had their revenge on the legions of continuity-obsessed, hyper-critical alt.tv.simpsons members with the episode “The Itchy, Scratchy, and Poochie Show.”

Fast forward to 2012, and WWE’s Are You Serious series did the same to the legions of IWC denizens, with the one-off appearance of a character named Mark, who’s, um…very smart. And just as annoying as the similarly (and thankfully) one-off Poochie.

No surprises here – YouTube members shat on this episode, which is the only Are You Serious episode with a substantial number of dislikes.

How did I not see this when it debuted? Amazing!

Are You Serious is the greatest show WWE has ever produced, and I stand by that.

No argument from me on that one, but the idea of mocking a good chunk of your audience with a puppet certainly was not a good move.

The world needs more Puppet H, though.

    I hope SweetTerraRyzing.com isn’t taken

  3. DarthPitch says:

What’s ironic about this is I’ve almost never seen a “smart mark” type praise WCW…ECW, ROH, Japan, Mexico, you name it, but not WCW.

    Lords-of-Hurt lol…

I would upvote this times a million. It’s just funny.

  5. Third String Point Guard says:

Heck, Mark even sounds like Comic Book Guy!

    • Quentin Kaasa says:

Mark’s voice is ripped off of Neil Goldman from Family Guy. The part with his Mom seems to be inspired by the Nostalgia Critic’s recurring Douchey McNitpick character.
