It Came From YouTube: The Kings Of Wrestling upstage The Macho Man by dressing up like Elvis

Ok so in the build up for this show Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall have formed a new heel faction called “The Kings of Wrestling” (no relation to the awesome RoH tag-team, or the Chikara stable) and started causing such havoc that Randy Savage came out of retirement to team up with Jeff Hardy and A.J. Styles.

So how does TNA do a hype video to establish the gravity of Savage’s return and the menace of the heals? By having Jarrett, Nash, and Hall dress up like The Honky Tonk Man and goof around in a fake car. Oh and to make things 100% more awful throw in a joke about Scott Hall driving under the influence.

One bright side there’s a line that Jeff Hardy “can’t sing and can’t dance” that’s pretty funny. Plus it does feature the highly underrated Flying Elvises theme.

Yeah, this is TNA so all I can say is that I’m so not surprised they went this route…

This really makes sense to me. TNA at this time completely revolved around Jeff Jarrett, so why have him actually take the Macho Man seriously and make him look good? Nobody mattered but J-E-double F J-A-double R-E-double T. Ha ha!

  2. Sean Bateman says:

There is only two wrestling Elvises, Wayne Ferris and Midnight Rose’s buddy/WcR TNA corrispodant, Honky Tonk Mail Man

  3. Bone White says:

They look like they’ve got Devo “Thru Being Cool” hats on – should have gone the whole hog with the boiler suits.

  4. Adam X says:

Ah yes during the Jeff Jarrett never loses era…I actually don’t the new TNA so much after rmembering that.

  5. John says:

That promo really inspired me to take a really long nap.

  6. Falcone says:

This article seems to indicate that Kings of Wrestling only did this for the opening package for no reason. No sir. That was their gimmick!

And by the way I love the theme song.
