It Came From YouTube: The Chris Warren Band ruins “America The Beautiful”

In the Man Mountain Rock induction, R.D wrote that Man Mountain Rock played…

…what may be the worst rendition of the national anthem I’ve ever heard…

Crapper Autrach Sejanoz replied in the Comments saying…

Trust me, it’s miles better than the DX Band’s rendition of American The Beautiful at Wrestlemania XIV. Only time I’ve ever heard a crowd boo that song.

And then he put up a link to this video of the Chris Warren Band (you know, the band who did D-Generation X’s theme) ruining.. er, I mean performing”America The Beautiful” at Wrestlemania 14.

Ouch, my poor ears!!!

“Only in the USA and the WWF can there be this type of freedom of expression.”

You know a song’s bad when the best thing you can say about it is that you can’t be thrown in jail for it.

    • Alexandru says:

Hell that was utter garbage, maybe they should have been thrown in jail for that pathetic rendition, or at the least fined for it. If they did this WCW circa 1997 they would have been, rightfully, been covered in garbage

  2. John C says:

I love the Fink’s intro but he should have said it was hip as well. If only Robo-Linda would have used this gem as a campaign song she could have tripled her vote total to three. This makes the awful Clash of the Champions 10 group seem like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones & U2 all rolled into one awesome super group.

  3. Down With OPC says:

It was so bad they cut out the song from the WrestleMania XIV home video releases!

    • Guest says:

Actually it was because of royalties which WWE has gotten into the habit of not paying anyone who performs at wrestlemania or some such event.

  4. Jay "The Brain" Mann says:

Makes ya wonder why they’ve removed it from almost every single home release of it (haven’t checked the WWE Network version to see if it’s there).

  5. Chris says:

Has Chris Warren ever spoken about this? Like in an interview or anything?

  6. Mister Forth says:

    Those guys were something.

  7. "The Big Cheese" Paul Kraft says:

Don’t get me wrong- I think the D-X theme and Triple H theme they did are both great. They’re really good at that kind of music. But this interpretation/performance of this song really sucks.

  8. Scrooge McSuck says:

I had no problem with it… pretty sure they were performing it obnoxiously bad to draw intentional heat.

  9. Attack129 says:

They only got them to preform it that way in order to generate more heat towards DX later that night
