It Came From YouTube: REVIEW WCW Thunder? Joe Gagne did just that!

Here’s Joe Gagne’s brand spankin’ new review of the infamous WCW Thunder video game for the Sony Playstation.

Yeesh, what a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad game. It truly earned its reputation. Joe is spot-on (as always) with this review.

Somewhere out there The Scotsman is smiling.

  1. Autrach Sejanoz says:

Great series, the Funtime Arcade. Man, just how lazy IS Nash?

  2. CriscoBurger says:

This guy at times sounds like he’s chewing on a sweatsock when he talks. That and when his voice cracks like the acne riddled teenager on the Simpsons makes it hard for me to follow. That being said the parts that come in clear are quite amusing.

    • "The Big Cheese" Paul Kraft says:

He really does need to talk slower and speak more clearly, I’ll give you that. A better quality microphone wouldn’t hurt, either.

  3. Raven7309 says:

I was given this game for Christmas that year by aunt. She meant well, but you know. Kids, let this serve as a warning: Just because a friend or family member knows that you’re into wrestling, be specific when they ask you what you’d like for Christmas or your birthday.

  4. Peter says:

I never played this, but I played a Nitro demo so close enough.

My favorite part is when he mentions the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. Get that lawsuit underway!

  5. TMS says:

I actually had that game. I liked the goofy arenas and wrestlers you could unlock. The game was kinda fun. Looking back on it now though, it is funny to hear Nash tell you not to pick him.

  6. The Doctor of Style says:

Thunder was better than Nitro, but that isn’t saying much! Gagne accurately covers the “Test of Strength” move–one of the weirdest game programming decisions ever. But I’m surprised he didn’t mention the secret swing dancing mode. You’re not a real gamer until you’ve seen Haku slide the Barbarian through his legs.

Bad as a wrestling game, but enough arcadey fun to make it a decent rental back then, especially with the silly promos.

  7. The Doctor of Style says:

Piper: “You heard Nash! He said ‘Don’t pick me!’ Fine, pick me, cause I can smash Nash!”

    Anyone else remember that? 🙂
