It Came From YouTube: Karate Fighters Tournament: Sunny Vs. A midget luchador

This is a 1997 commercial from Raw for Milton Bradley Karate Fighters (think “Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots” but with Karate action figures kicking instead of robots punching) featuring a “tournament” where a midget Luchador named “Shrimp Scampi” (har-har!) competes in a grueling match.

(Spoiler: Shrimp Scampi loses).

But more important than any of that, the video features the beautiful Tammy “Sunny” Sytch in her prime showing off her cleavage and jumping up and down in victory after she wins the “match”.

I’m not quite sure why the WWF decided to use a sexy Sunny to sell a toy to pre-pubesent boys instead of one of the male wrestlers, but bless them for going forward with that plan!

Oh, and for those who care, Sunny went on to face Jerry Lawler in the next round. Jerry cheated to win, but he got caught, the “match” was re-started, and (spoiler!) Sunny won the tournament.

Fun fact: I had a few Karate Fighters as a child that made noise, including a screaming noise when they were knocked off their stand. However, they would often go off on their own, so many times in my childhood I would be awoken in the middle of the night by the sound of somebody’s anguished scream, only to realize it was a Karate Fighter in my closet. Good times.

As Beavis and Butthead would say “Booooiinnnngggg”

I’ve been out of work for years. There has to be somebody that wants to buy some Karate Fighters.

I see the Simon commercial made it to tape.

    *beep *beep

Simon defeated me badly many times.
