Irwin R. Schyster (I.R.S) cuts a promo chastising a dead person for not paying his burial taxes.
Now that’s what I call a heel!
This was during his pointless and heatless feud with The Undertaker if you’re wondering why there’s the theme of death going on.
Mike Routunda was so great in this role, even if the gimmick was pretty silly.
The gimmick was crap, but Routunda played it to the hilt.
Even as a kid, when this angle went down, I knew the IRS character had nothing left in the tank. No surprise that he left sometime during the summer after an uneventful ’95 (excluding the Rumble vs. Undertaker). I have to admit, I hated him as in “I want to see him get his ass kicked” kind of ways, so I think the gimmick, while stupid in theory, worked because of how well Rotundo/a ran with it. The simple art of working a crowd.
Almost December and we’d better PAY OUR TAXES
As if having his son surf on his casket wasn’t humiliating enough they even dig up Big Show’s fathers’ casket. I wonder if Steph & Shane will splurge on a magnificent coffin for Vince someday.
