Two things I learned from this gem

1) He should have pulled the jobber up at the count of two so he could continue his meal

2) Mr. Fitness II and the Midnight Rose should do this during a match, but with the Shake Weight

Wow! This is my kind of wrestler- he can wrestle (and win!) and enjoy a delicious, nutritious lunch at the same time!

Bastion Booger learned from the best.

Also, it reminded me of this classic commercial.

Was there any context to this or did Vince just think it’s be HA-HA-LARIOUS to have a wrestler wrestle and eat at the same time?

  2. Autrach Sejanoz says:

You know, they should have recycled this gimmick with Ryback when Paul Heyman was his manager. LICENSE TO PRINT MONEY!

  3. Walt says:

Surprised they didn’t recycle this for Bastion Booger or even Ralphus.

As an aside, who innovated the kneeling belly to belly piledriver aka Tombstone? Dynamite Kid and Tiger Mask used it in their series in the early 80’s in NJPW, Muraco used it here and it looks like it’s late 70’s early 80’s. Karl Gotch used it against Inoki at the first NJPW event in 1972. Any idea who created it?

I know from a book called Wrestling’s 101 Strangest Matches by Oliver Hurley that this match took place in August ’83 so it was used before this.

Commercials in the past were so much entertaining than these overhyped heaps of dog feces that are made now. Muraco must have been the most high wrestler of all time he’d have to eat during promos, matches hell even RVD never hade to stop mid-match for a bag of Cheetos. I believe it was Tom B. Stone who invented the piledriver in 1953 in his feud with Gorgeous George.

    This needs his donut promo.
