Welcome to the first ever installment of our new Youtube feature here at the ‘Crap, temporarily entitled “It Came From Youtube!” (Yes, we know that sucks. Please give us a better title. We will love you for it.)
(Note from 2013 RD: No one ever did!)
Every week, we’ll be digging up some of the most bizarre, most obscure, and ridiculous wrestling videos for your enjoyment. To kick it off, and in honor of Spider-Man 3 opening this weekend, here’s a look at another famous comic book hero, making his debut in the world of pro wrestling. In this clip from the late 70’s, Adam West shows up in Memphis to confront Jerry “Super King” Lawler, and he does so portraying the fictional Batman character. I can forgive the fact that Batman is dressed in a tracksuit, looking like he decided to jog to the arena that night instead of taking the Batmobile. But the sight of an apparently sloshed Batman, spitting out effeminate pet names for Spider Man, and acting like a uppity driver’s education instructor by scolding Lawler on his driving techniques, is just too much.
