Check out this corporate video designed to sell Bill Watts Universal Wrestling Federation (formerly Mid-South Wrestling) to new TV markets. This also did a very good job of explaining who “Dr. Death” Steve Williams, Ted Dibiase, the Freebirds, and other stars.

Sadly while UWF was doing great ratings the cost of going national combined with a recession in the Texas market meant Watts wasn’t going to be able to compete with Vince’s bottomless pockets pockets for very long. Anyway if you haven’t checked out the WWE’s awesome Heroes of Midsouth DVD set I STRONGLY recommend checking it out.

Dr. Death was Born in the USA! Eddie Gilbert was hot stuff! Ted Dibiase had a million dollar figure four! The Freebirds are Back in Town and they live on Badstreet, USA!

“By gawd that’s right. I’m Jim Ross and I’ll sell you on wrestling in your tv market just like selling sauce to a fat man. Now excuse me I gotta go smell the Missing Link’s tights for a little scent of Dark Journey. Then I’ll be adding a little rub onto my meat, if you catch my drift.”
