In celebration of the 4th of July, here’s a goofy segment in which the Undertaker joins the All Americans prior to Survivor Series 1993. While Taker bedecked with a Betsy Ross flag is the notable centerpiece, pay attention to Lex Luger’s reaction – he celebrates like he just won his first world title!
Have a great 4th, everyone!
It’s just painful seeing any video with Scott Steiner, knowing what a worthless POS he soon would be.
One of wrestling’s classic cheeseball moments!
Look at the fans’ banner during its close-up, and you can see it features tombstones for, er, “Yokotuna”, and Hogan, several months after he left the company.
Something amusing there. Lex and Scott had to walk around Undertaker to see what was on the inside of his coat before they started cheering. Rick stood right behind Taker and acted immediately. This could only mean one of three things:
1) Rick blew his cue.
2) Rick has X-Ray vision.
3) Rick was looking at Taker’s ass the whole time and happened to get a peripheral glimpse.
The mind boggles.
I remember the promotional poster which featured Team USA about to cut into a roast turkey dressed like Yokozuna. Tatanka (Buffalo) the original member was in a war dance pose.
But when Taker replaced Tatanka they just painted over Buffalo, so the Undertaker is doing Tatanka’s war dance pose on the poster.

Interestingly the network uses the original art to promo the show:

I wonder if Taker’s teammates thought he was in the nude underneath his coat and thought he flashed the crowd and cameras.
Listeners of Bruce Prichard’s podcast will know the story of how Undertaker ripped out the lining of that coat and blamed it on his dog so he didn’t have to wear the jacket on house shows.
I marked out so hard for this as a kid. My brother and I were coming up with reasons why. “Lots of people died in the Revolution!”
I have to give Lex credit for his gloriously cheesy acting here.
