It Came From YouTube: A mysterious masked man attacks Earthquake!

Earthquake is about to polish off a jobber when a mystery man runs in and attacks him, bringing him down!

Who is it?!

WHO IS IT?!!!!

Well, it’s Ed Leslie; who you may know better as Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake.

The character wasn’t given a name, but fans eventually called him The Mariner (why?), Furface (WHY?? There is no fur on his mask!), or Run-In Man (okay, that one makes sense at least).

He’s run into random matches and attack the heels, and then run back out again.

Unfortunately, his face was still too messed up from the parasailing accident so this didn’t actually go anywhere.

P.S- Don’t you love the obviously chroma-keyed shot of Vince and Roddy Piper “in the arena watching the action unfold”?

They used to do that with Gorilla and Bobby on Wrsetling Challenge all the time, too.

  1. John C says:

At least the payoff to thiis was well worth it. Not having anything happen so Brother Bruti didn’t get more air time. At least till Wrestlemania 9.

  2. Christopher says:

Using a head-butt a few months after facial reconstruction surgery is probably not a good idea

  3. AK says:

I think I have my next Halloween costume picked out..

Not to mention what would be the Greatest Somebody Bought This for outfits since Giant Gonzalez’s Bodysuit.

Who was that masked man? He can use a good Barber….

—- You mean to say that they were NEVER at the Venues where Superstars was being taped

    AND

“They used to do that with Gorilla and Bobby on Wrsetling Challenge all the time, too.”

—–Okay, very well, fondest childhood memories / innocence just got ruined

But if I could dispute that statement. Ric Flair once attacked Roddy Piper at the announcer’s desk with Vince and Macho Man looking on. Piper proceeds to pick up a chair and accidentallly knocks out Vince McMahon. The crowd went nuts chanting Roddy, Roddy. while Macho Man (possibly because he was also chroma keyed) still looked on. Why would they chant for someone who wasn’t there? And the best part was when Vince got stretchered out….classic!
